Last December, the eyes of the world were focused on Copenhagen, as leaders negotiated a deal aimed at reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. In spite of intense public pressure and concern, the resulting Copenhagen Accord fell far short of what is required to combat climate change. At this public panel and discussion, Beyond Copenhagen: Finding Our Way to Climate Action, observers who attended the UN talks will discuss what did and did not happen in Copenhagen and help us answer the question: where do we go from here if we want to live on a healthy and safe planet?

Panelists include Meinhardt Doelle, Dalhousie’s Marine & Environmental Law Institute, Sierra Club’s Emily Rideout and Janice Ashworth, Master's Candidate, School for Resource and Environmental Studies, Dalhousie University.

WHERE: St. Andrew’s United Church Hall, 6036 Coburg Road, Halifax, NS

SPONSORS: Sierra Club Canada – Atlantic Canada Chapter, Interfaith Coalition for Climate Justice, Oxfam Canada, and Ecology Action Centre.
