Sadie Beaton serves up some trap-caught shrimpMIC partnered with Select NS to create a Local Marketplace showcasing some of our province's local and sustainable fisheries within this year's seafood festival. A wonderful group of MIC volunteers and staff worked hard to pull this together. We cooked 400 fishcakes, 30 pounds of shrimp and 1 gallon of clams to offer samples to festival go-ers of local products and to raise the profile of our sustainable fisheries. Chefs Chris Velden of Ryan Duffy's and Dennis Johnston of FID, did an amazing job of showcasing sustainable marine treats with mouth watering cooking demos, as well!

Beautiful space, attendance from many different background interests, and good networking!
