September 2010 TIC meeting set for September 13
Since the first Monday in September is a holiday, the Transportation Issues Committee meeting will be held at 5:30 at EAC on Monday, September 13 instead.

Past Events:

Driven to Excess: September 28, 2009

We all know the environmental and physical benefits of reducing car use, but what about the social benefits of decreasing congestion? How does it affect our relations with our neighbors? On Monday, September 28th, Josh Hart spoke to the EAC about his research following the social interactions of residents of three different streets in Bristol, England.

Check out the "Driven to Excess" website at www.driventoexcess.org for more information on Josh Hart's study, which suggests that "residents on busy streets have less than one quarter the number of local friends compared to those living on similar streets with little traffic."
