YOU ARE INVITED TO HELP US CELEBRATE A TERRIFIC ACHIEVEMENT! October 19, 2009

After more than a decade of advocacy and campaigning by EAC and the Eastern Shore Forest Watch, the new, 14,700 hectare Ship Harbour Long Lake Wilderness Area has finally been protected. This is a major victory for nature conservation on Nova Scotia. For more information on the area and the history of this campaign, see the cover story in this Sunday’s “The Nova Scotian” in the Chronicle Herald.

The new provincial government is hosting a special celebration event  - and all EAC members are invited.

WHEN: Monday, October 19 at 11 AM
WHERE: Alderney Landing Theater beside the ferry terminal on the Dartmouth waterfront.

Please come and join us to mark this momentous achievement. This is the second remarkable Wilderness Protection achievement this year, with Birch Cove Blue Mountain Wilderness Area having been announced in the spring.
