Our most important work is done by people like you, who decide to participate on an action committee. You can get involved just a little – or a lot. Call us, drop by the office, or drop in on a meeting. All are welcome! Most teams meet monthly at the EAC. Below are meeting times and contact information. Built Environment
Meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm
Encourages ecologically sustainable, affordable and healthy building design and construction, and promotes urban planning and design in harmony with the natural and social environment.

Coastal Issues
Meets the last Thursday of every month at 5:30pm.
Works towards sustainable coastal communities and the protection and management of Nova Scotia's coasts.

Marine Issues

Works to promote marine conservation and sustainable ocean-based livelihoods in Nova Scotia.

Energy Issues
Meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm
Works to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency through policy and practice for the benefit of Nova Scotians.

Food Action
Meets on the third Monday of every month at 5:30pm
The Food Action Committee celebrates and encourages the consumption of local, ecologically produced foods.

Transportation Issues
Meets on the first Monday of every month at 5:30pm
Aims to improve sustainable transportation options in Nova Scotia.

The Wilderness Issues Committee is focused on establishing more protected areas and improving how forests are managed.

Home Maintenance
Meets second Monday of every month at 5:30pm We need people with some basic home repair and organizing skills, as well as those with a keen interest in learning about home repair and green renovations. The Home Maintenance Committee is responsible for the general maintenance of our Fern Lane home and organizes monthly "work parties". Contact: (902) 429-2202
