Workshop descriptions:

October 7  3 pm  Convenience food from your garden

We will harvest and prepare the ingredients together (we do charge for ingredients), make the treats, and everyone will have lots to bring home. If you have small freezer bags, bring them along to fill. It is a real treat to have your own baggies of garden goodness from the freezer all winter long. This is garden 'junk food' that is tasty and good for you *If you can’t make it for 3pm, get in touch and we can arrange another time.

October 14   3 pm Make your own sauerkraut or kimchi

We will harvest and prepare the ingredients together (we do charge for ingredients), make up the jars of kraut and kimchi, and everyone will have lots to bring home. If you have mason jars, bring them along to fill. This method of preserving the harvest costs nothing to process, and nothing to keep until you eat it. It is also very good for your digestion and general health. Why make kraut alone when we can all make it together? *If you can’t make it for 3pm, get in touch and we can arrange another time.

October 21    3 pm  Make your own sourdough bread the easy way

We will grind the wheat, make the dough, and let it sit while we take a prepared dough and get it ready to bake. When the bread comes out of the oven we'll have a snack to taste it. We will have loaves for sale if people want to bring some home. Why make bread the hard way? *If you can’t make it for 3pm, get in touch and we can arrange another time.
