Jamie SimpsonJamie comes to the EAC with a background in forestry, forest ecology and land conservation. He has worked on a variety of land conservation, forest certification and low impact logging projects in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Mexico, and recently completed a book about forest ecology and restoration for woodlot owners in the Maritimes. Jamie has an undergrad in biology from Acadia University and a Master of Science degree in Forestry from UNB. Jamie loves to play the fiddle, climb rocks, ride his bike long distances and wander about in the forest.

Kermit deGooyer

Kermit deGooyerKermit was EAC's first Wilderness Coordinator, between 1998 and 2002. During that time he set the direction of our wilderness program and spearheaded several Wilderness Area campaigns. Kermit returned to the EAC in 2005 to lead our technical work in protected areas planning and continue campaigning for more wilderness and better forestry.  Kermit holds a Master of Science in Forestry and undergraduate degrees in math and environmental planning.  He enjoys canoeing, hockey, and hanging out with his twin sons.

Raymond Plourde

Raymond is a long-time angler and dedicated conservationist who has served as vice president and a director of the Nova Scotia Salmon Association and is a member of several conservation organizations. Raymond is also a nature photographer and writer whose articles and photos have appeared in Outdoor Canada, Atlantic Salmon Journal and Fish & Fly, among others. When not in the office or attending a meeting Raymond can usually be found waist-deep in one of Nova Scotia's (few remaining) salmon rivers.
