What EAC is Doing
Because we believe in collaboration, and the power in numbers, EAC is now an active member of Pesticide Free Nova Scotia. We have teamed up with the Canadian Cancer Society, Citizens for a Safe Learning Environment, the Environmental Health Association of Nova Scotia, Real Alternatives to Toxins in the Environment, the Sierra Club of Canada, and the Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia, to work to create a Nova Scotia free of cosmetic pesticides.
The principles of this coalition are also endorsed by Breast Cancer Action Nova Scotia, the David Suzuki Foundation, Eco-Justice Canada, Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, and several prominent Nova Scotia doctors. Pesticide Free Nova Scotia is working for the right of all municipalities to legislate the sale and use of pesticides, toward provincial legislation, and to educate the public (including businesses), about pesticides and their alternatives.
