There is no green solution to bottled water. The bottled water industry requires massive amounts of fossil fuel to manufacture, transport and dispose of bottled water. 

Municipal leaders need to start acknowledging that the public water they provide - and that taxpayers pay for - is just as good, and, in fact, better, cheaper and more environmentally friendly than bottled water.

The Bottled Water Coalition would like to see municipalities take action to turn on the tap and ditch the bottle by World Water Day, March 22nd 2009.
