On Canvas Art Sale

Art for the Planet

Over 25 local artists are participating in On Canvas, February 8 - 27, 2010.  Beautiful works of art are now displayed at FRED, 2606 Agricola Street.  All art is on sale, with half the proceeds going to the artists and half to the Ecology Action Centre.

The Opening Show on February 8 was a spectacular success. Eight paintings are already sold, totaling an amazing $9 670, half of which goes to the artists and the other half to the EAC. But that’s just the beginning. With about 100 guests, delicious in-house made dips and cash bar, the mood was invigorating. Inspiring speeches were made by Wendy MacGregor, long time volunteer and board member of the EAC, followed by Victor Syperek, who spoke about the invaluable connection between art and environment (I believe he compared Barcelona to Sackville). Definitely a grand kick-off to this brand new, annual EAC event!
